Even a Pandemic Can’t Stop Love.

Abigail + Dylan Dwyer were committed to eloping on May 16, 2020 and even the “Stay Home Order” couldn’t derail their plans.

Ok maybe with some slight adjustments. So they decided to Elope at Home.

Since Summit County had issued a moratorium on short term rentals until early June Abbey + Dylan shifted the elopement location from a B & B in Breckenridge, CO to their own home, in the scenic hills of Evergreen CO (they had just purchased last year!!!)

Abbey’s Dad created an incredible arch for the ceremony, perfect for COVID Social Distancing. As their Officiant, I wore my mask until the ceremony start, and then stood 6 feet back behind the arch, so all the photos were just of the couple. Bonus for them.

The guest list was paired down to 10 people to include just their immediate family and the ceremony and celebration was captured by both a Photographer and Videographer to share with their extended family and friends not in attendance. With the help of a hand held mic, the guests positioned on the deck could still hear the ceremony.

They say ““Home is where your heart is” so there is no better place to tie the knot than your own back yard surrounded by those closest to you. All the little details made their ceremony and celebration extra special.

The couple decided to self solemnize their license and took care of sending it back themselves.

Here are a couple excerpts from their Ceremony:

(RUMI) It has been said that life isn’t so much about the search for love, but for the search for the obstacles to love. You found love together and a deep connection. And you used that strength and power to navigate obstacles that have been placed in your way.  “

Love Is Friendship Caught Fire by Laura Hendricks:

Love is friendship caught fire;

it is quiet, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving.

It is loyalty through good and bad times.

It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.

Love is content with the present, hopes for the future, and does not brood over the past.

It is the day-in and day-out chronicles of irritations, problems, compromises, small disappointments, big victories, and working toward common goals.

If you have love in your life, it can make up for a great many things you lack.

If you do not have it, no matter what else there is, it is not enough.
