Gloves Mandatory for this Pre New Years’ Elopement

Last Monday, on a “typical” Colorado winter day, meaning you never know what you might get, Caitlyn Marie Luetge & Samuel Taylor Lammers tied the knot. On December 30, 2019 at 3:00 pm the Bride and Groom (with their gloves on) and their close family as their witnesses gathered at the Sapphire Point overlook on Swan Mountain Road, Dillon, CO to share their vows to one another.

Caitlyn looked gorgeous in her princess dress with a fur wrap. The stunning flowers from Pink Posey Popped in the pictures. Their three girls wore little white princess cloaks to match.

To weave their faith, we started the ceremony with a prayer and shared the Corinthians right before their vows.

Love is Patient, Love is kind; love is not jealous or boastful; It is not arrogant or rude.
Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
It does not rejoice at wrong but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
— CORINTHIANS 13:4-7

To include their girls into the ceremony, we incorporated a “Family Promise” to acknowledge that family made by choice can be just as strong and even stronger that that of blood.

Family Promise:

Caitlyn and Sam, with your vows you have declared your love for each other. In your decision to spend the rest of your lives together. Sam you have accepted the responsibilities of parenthood towards Caitlyn’s daughter Peyton. You have been creating a home where she finds love, security and acceptance.  As a living example you both have shown that a Circle of Family is not made by blood alone, but by love, respect and commitment as well. Indeed, a Circle of Family made by choice can be as strong if not stronger than that of blood. As we honor each other and the choices we make, we, in turn, honor ourselves. When we honor ourselves, we honor the Divine Spirit that lives within us all.  Let mutual love and respect be the foundation of this family by acknowledging the value of each other’s choices.

Officiant Asks the whole family: Do you promise to love, respect and protect each other from this day forward and to accept the Responsibility of being a family, and to encourage, and support each other in your new life together?

Everyone: “We Promise!”

Officiant: It is by the union of Caitlyn and Sam that this family is made. Let you be as one, to sing and dance together, laugh and cry together, live, love, and grow together.  Let no secrets divide the Circle of Family.

Post Ceremony and Photo session, the family celebrated at the Red Mountain Grill.

Congratulations to Caitlyn and Sam and their three beautiful daughters. Thank you to the amazing coordination of the team from Custom Weddings of Colorado who helped shepherd the family to the wedding venue and keep their spirits high with the low temps. To ensure no one got frostbite, we ended up shortening the ceremony a tad. The couple and their family still managed to get in a quality photo shoot with Kristin of Villani Photography. Keep an eye out for those to be added to this post in the coming weeks.
